The minutes of the SeniorNet Summer Volunteer meeting of July 13 were approved, without change by voice vote.
Action 2.
Finance:
Larry is currently investigating depositing much of SeniorNet resources into CD’s Thereby earning a better rate of interest than that received in our checking account. He will report to the officers in the near future.

Introduction to Graphics
Family Tree Maker will not be offered in the Spring for lack of teaching staff.
A revised Photoshop Elements 4 course is being prepared by Emory Reese and will be offered for the first time beginning January 15, 2007. This course will offer a new approach using a new purchasable Photoshop Elements Manual featuring detailed step by step graphics and text to aid the student’s progress. The class will have a brand new Epson Graphics printer featuring a 13” wide carriage to use for making frameable large scale color prints.

Course Manuals: George Fuller
George reports that all manuals have been printed and delivered at a cost that was equal to or less than anticipated. Manuals are stored under lock and key to limit their disappearance.
Lab report:
John reports he had a total of 28 attendees during the nine laboratory sessions held during the summer session. His weekly average was 2.6 students/week vs 3.5 students per week in previous Lab sessions.
John expressly wanted to thank his perennial Lab coach,
Staffing: John Rittenburg
John Rittenburg reports that he has identified at least three coaches for each class and four coaches for full classes, for the fall. John senses that fewer volunteers appear willing to staff the coaching positions for all the courses. He theorizes that burnout is the primary cause. In the past many coaches would participate in two or three classes, currently the most all volunteers appear reluctant to commit to more than one course.
Volunteer issues: Tony Cobourn/Beth Korn
Tony reports an increase of four new volunteers placing the
total number of active volunteers at sixty six (66). Tony and his replacement,
Disks and badges:
Bob reports that there are sufficient disks and badges for all classes.
Room readiness: Open position
Roswell SeniorNet is currently looking for a replacement for the room readiness tasks
Publicity: Fred Wooten
Fred reports that Roswell SeniorNet course flyers were
distributed throughout
Course issues:
All course coordinators/Instructors appeared ready for courses to begin the week of September 18.
Other business:
The nominating
committee headed by
Howard Goldmacher Secretary.
There were no nominations from the floor and a motion was made to vote in the current slate of Officers for the year 2007, to the sigh’s of relief of the SeniorNet members present.
The above noted officers were voted to the board for 2007 by acclamation.
There was no further business from the floor
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting and seconded. The meeting adjourned at 1:50 pm.
