4. President’s report
Spring course schedules
Course cancellation
Course coordinator opportunities/needs |
Hogan |
Per Don, there was no provision in bylaws to determine state the next person in line to assume presidency, since neither person elected in September is able to carry through with the offices. Therefore, the exec comm. can approve a special election, and at volunteer meeting we can organize same. Don states continuing as president is not his first choice, however, he is willing to help another person with a 4 month transition period. He will carry out the duties of president for now. Executive Committee members present applauded and congratulated him. |
Julie would like to move that Don steps in as pres until next election or new president takes office. Jerry seconds. Those present vote unanimously in agreement. So moved. |
Don says he is happy to let someone else run for presidency and train them. Thurs Wed Mar 27 is volunteer meeting. We need to hurry because class issues are fast coming due. |

Don reports that George Fuller is taking care of printing manual orders, no issues. |
5. Coordinator reports Spring Staffing Volunteer issues |
Hogan for Thompson |
Don reports Jack has not reported any issues with Staffing, but will remind him of the provision in the Staffing Coordinator duties to notify the COURSE COORDINATOR of anyone volunteering to instruct the class—there should be communication with the coordinator especially if that person has never instructed our classes before. |

5. Coordinator reports: Lab report/ Discs & Badges
Nelson |
Bob reports lab sessions average 2 student 3 coaches, Maximum 5 in one session. No session on 9th week (reminder) He will post a list for lab volunteers later this week. he is not having issues—making badges for new students as we speak, and the discs will be completed by start of class week. The issue of using flash drives in some classes such as photoshop was discussed. We are currently using CD’s for all classes. Floppies are available if any student wants lessons on a 3 ˝ ‘’ floppy. Any changes on class CD versions, please notify Bob. Kudos to Bob for all the great work! |

classroom |
Don reminds everyone the alcove computers had a volunteer (actually two who submitted their names but never helped maintain those computers), so he and George Fuller have stepped in to maintain the alcove computers. Don also reminds everyone there is a test PC in the front of the classroom that will have VISTA installed in case any students need demos. The new video card installed on the instructor PC has increased the projector brightness because it is not pulling power from the PC memory, has memory of its own. Don has ordered Vista for the test computer via TechSoup, which allows one large Microsoft donation per year. David asks Jessica if the city can install lights which can be dimmed, the current ceiling fluorescents make the projector image difficult to see, at the same time need ambient light for those with vision problems. |
